I cannot even keep it together with these goodbyes I cannot even keep it together with these goodbyes. Someone speaks her name and I just lose it. I’ll tell myself to just hold it in but it’s truly hopeless…so I am pretty much just crying all of the time now. Last ballet class was this morning…before we take her to TCU on Tuesday. All I can picture is the very day she first put on her first pair of ballet flats and pressed her little nose against the window to watch the “big girls” dance. This whole “sending them off” is for the birds. 😭 I know as mamas we prepare for this and I know this is exactly where the Lord has her, but goodness, this transition is not easy. For all the mamas taking their first to college…you have my whole heart. 💔 I don’t like this part of parenting one bit…🥹 To @premiereballetacademy you are such a beautiful family to us all. Your love, compassion, and kindness is unmatched. What I love most is that your striving for excellence never surpassed your heart to love the whole person. Mrs. Melissa you are truly incredible and I thank the Lord for the myriad of ways you have blessed our family, not just our sweet Kate. The the girls of PBA—thank you for being such a gift to Kate. You’re like my own daughters too and I thank the Lord in every memory of you all!! You know something that blows my mind? Studies s You know something that blows my mind? Studies show more people are afraid of public speaking than they are of dying. Let that sink in for just a second. That means that this room I am in, with these women here…there is likely more people that would rather die than get up in front of people… and yet…they said “yes” even though they were scared out of their minds. They are choosing to do the thing they once promised they would never do. That’s brave. And it’s incredibly inspiring. My guess is, even if it’s not speaking in public, there’s likely something you know God is calling you to do and you’re terrified to say yes. You’ve been hesitating, waiting, hoping that little nudge you have buried deep and tried to ignore would just go away. But it keeps nagging. Keeps coming back up. If that’s you I want you to know this: God has always been in the business of calling the unlikely to do the impossible. He’s not looking for perfect; He’s looking for surrendered hearts, humble souls, that trust Him more than their fear. This is where He has me right now. He’s asking for me to let go and trust that His way is better…and my fear no longer serves me. What is it that has you scared out of your mind right now? Is there something? If not, then good for you! But if so…also good. Actually, no, that’s even better. That just means you’re in the perfect place for Him to show up bigger than you’ve ever seen before. Go ahead, come with me…let’s take the next step. It’s time to move. It’s time to do the thing you’re terrified to do… because your obedience might just be the next big breakthrough. Our comfort zones are way overrated. He called you. He’ll equip you. And He promised to never leave you. Our Last Day at Glorieta 🥾🐰🌄🎻 The mor Our Last Day at Glorieta 🥾🐰🌄🎻 The morning started with a cowboy breakfast—biscuits and gravy, hot coffee brewed in a cast iron pot, the kind of slow, quiet start that makes you want to linger…for, say…forever… We played horseshoes, tossed rings over bottles, climbed trees one last time, cuddled the bunnies again (because the girls just couldn’t stay away), rode mountain bikes, and hiked beneath the trees and skies almost too big to take in. There was Bible study and another sweet date night. This time a steak dinner, with some of the best corn bread I’ve ever had…and churros!! A live violinist. A sunset that made us all grab for our cameras and a group pic that had us all laughing at just how much fun we all had together. The staff handed out thumb drives filled with captured memories handed out like little time capsules. And then—dancing. The kind where no one holds back, and everyone is smiling We ended the night with deep belly laughs, late-night conversations with new friends, and that good kind of tired where your soul feels full in the best ways. And now, here I sit—wondering how I could possibly put into words what this week meant to our family. Glorieta Family Camp was more than just a fun vacation. It was intentional. Thoughtfully crafted. The best kind of good. From our five-year-old to our 19-year-old (and yes, even us grown-ups), every single person in our family was seen, valued, and delighted in. There was something here for each of us—adventure, beauty, worship, rest, fun, and space to be together. And I can’t say enough about the staff. Every detail was considered. Every need anticipated. It wasn’t just camp—it was a gift. A place that reminded us who we are, what matters most, and how beautiful life can be when we slow down and connect with one another again.
