“Did God really say…?” It’s the first que “Did God really say…?”

It’s the first question the enemy ever asked.
And it’s the one that still echoes through the hearts of God’s people today.

We live in a world of extremes when it comes to hearing God’s voice.

Some of us dismiss the idea entirely—too uncertain, too mysterious, too risky.

We don’t want to get it wrong, so we just… don’t listen.

Or maybe we stopped listening because the silence was too long.

Then there are others who go chasing whispers in every cloud shape, every coincidence, every feeling, every passing thought.

We baptize our impulses in spiritual language and blame the Holy Spirit for decisions we were already set on making.

But here’s the thing:
The voice of the Lord is not a magic trick or a parlor game.

It’s not vague. It’s not manic. It’s not ego-drenched.

It’s holy.

It’s district.

And you cannot separate the voice of the Spirit from the character of the Father,
as revealed in the Person of Jesus Christ.

If the “word” you’re hearing doesn’t look like Jesus—
doesn’t carry His mercy, His truth, His love, His humility—
then it isn’t His voice.

Because the God who speaks is the same God who came.

And the more you know Him,
the easier it becomes to recognize His voice.

So before we seek a voice, let’s seek His face.

Let’s saturate ourselves in Scripture.

Let’s wait in stillness. Pause to pray.

Let’s test every whisper against the Word.

And let’s remember:
God doesn’t play hide and seek with His children.

He loves to speak.
But even more than that—

He loves to be known.
“God told me…” Three words that carry both “God told me…”

Three words that carry both weight and warning.

Because we’ve all seen it—
Faith used like a weapon.

God’s name used like a stamp of approval for decisions that look nothing like His heart.

But just as dangerous is the silence we settle for.

We assume God only speaks to the really spiritual.

Or maybe He speaks only in emergencies.

Or maybe He stopped speaking altogether.

But the God of the Bible is not a God of indifference.

He’s a God who walked in the garden,
called out to prophets,
whispered through the wind,
and took on flesh to speak face-to-face.

The problem isn’t that God doesn’t speak.

It’s that we often stop at the feeling and never check the Source.

The voice of the Spirit will never contradict the Word.

The Spirit is not rogue—
He is in perfect unity with the Father and the Son.

So if the “word” leads you to pride,
to self-glory,
to dismiss people,
to control outcomes,
to avoid humility,
or to sidestep Scripture—
It’s probably not His voice.

God speaks with kindness.

With clarity.

With conviction.

And always, always in step with the character of Jesus.

So don’t be afraid to lean in.
Not to be weird.
Not to impress.

But to listen like a child.

Because His sheep really do hear His voice.

Taking care of your body isn’t about obsession.

And it’s definitely not about perfection.

It’s about showing up for your body
like it’s a gift,
not a project.

Because your body isn’t the point—
but it is a vessel.
A place where the Spirit dwells.
A frame that helps you carry out work that matters most.

So if you’re trying to get stronger, feel less sluggish, increase energy, or be more present in your life—
here are 3 practical reminders that have helped me move forward with intention and purpose:

1. Start with Protein
Protein builds lean muscle.
And lean muscle gives you strength, tone, and long-term support for your body.
Before you count carbs or fats—lock this in.
Protein helps you stay full, energized, and more resilient. as a good rule of thumb—aim for 1 gram of protein per pound of your goal weight.

When your body is fueled well,
you don’t just show up physically—
you show up emotionally and spiritually too.

2. Avoid Fats Around Workouts
Fats are essential for hormone health,
but right before and after a workout?
Not so much.

Your body needs carbs as fuel during movement,
and if you eat high-fat meals too close to training, you slow your momentum.

Aim for meals with less than 8 grams of fat
before and after your workout—
so your body can do what it was made to do:
move with strength and power.

3. Don’t Decrease Macros on Rest Days
This one’s counterintuitive.
You might think, “I’m not working out today, so I’ll eat less.”
But don’t.

Workouts break your body down.
Rest days rebuild it.

So what fuels the rebuilding?
Food.

If you’re serious about strength and endurance—
consistency is everything.
Eat well, eat more protein than you think—even when you’re not training.

Fitness doesn’t have to become your identity.
But it can become a faithful rhythm.
A way of saying,
“Thank You, God, for this body—help me take care of it.”
