spa and tea party: kate turns 11
Kate turned 11 in June…and I never shared the photos!!! Life got busy and I never came back around to it. But better late than never I suppose…especially since this party was so girly and cute!
We love to wake the kids up with breakfast in bed on their birthdays. The other kids help to get the food ready and argue over who will get to walk in the door first. I love seeing them grow in celebrating one another and learning to find joy in spoiling one another.
Our house transformed into a day spa and a few of my sweet friends helped me pamper 12 little girls. I sewed Ikea towels into wraps! And I don’t even sew!!!
We did face masks from Lush, manicures/pedicures, makeup and hair. And then we had the sweetest little tea party with all of her friends. Our gift bags had bath salts, bath bombs, birthday bubble gum and dark chocolate cookies…and then the girls got to keep their foot bath, towel wrap and head band.
This girl is such a joy and her heart is gold. She loves to serve others, even at her own party she was so concerned that everyone had what they needed and didn’t feel uncomfortable.
I would catching myself glancing over to look at her and still cannot believe she’s mine. To see her small hands holding her tea cup, watching her carefully pick up her sugar cubes and pour others their tea…
I’d stand back and watch her laugh and giggle with her friends and listen to her voice, so kind, so loving…I couldn’t help but remember when I was told I’d never have her and my heart feels so full.
Kate told me after everyone left that this was the best birthday she’s had yet. It was a lot of work to get it all ready and a lot of work to get that many girls pampered…but she is worth every second of it. I couldn’t stop smiling.
Happy Birthday sweet girl. You’re worth celebrating! It’s an honor to be your mama.
