“A brother is just a phone call away…” I wan “A brother is just a phone call away…” I wanted to express a heartfelt thank you @coryasbury and @hiforrest for pressing in, moving toward, softening hearts, and considering others as more important than yourselves. The way you both have loved one another strengthens the Body and shows us all there is another way that what has become the norm. I am deeply inspired and moved by your gracious hearts, your budding friendship, and your kindness towards one another. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to the Lord who gives us all the Spirit of reconciliation. And am praying for healing for MANY as the Lord continues to work His story out in the both of you.

We are all known for something…and at the same t We are all known for something…and at the same time, we long to be known for something.
Maybe those things align, maybe not.

You might want to be known for your strength. Success. Wit. Optimism. Skills. Accomplishments.

But Scripture tells us the one thing that will never fade is…love.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 13 that love is patient, love is kind, love does not envy or boast, it isn’t proud or rude, it isn’t easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs.

Here’s a challenge:
Take a moment to read through that chapter again—
but this time, replace the word love with your own name.
“_______is patient. ______is kind.
______does not envy. ______does not boast…”

Go through each word and pause for just a second to ask yourself,

Where does it feel true?
And where does it sting?

Ask the Lord to meet you in those places.
To show you how to grow, to show you where to repent…to show you how to love—more deeply, more fully, more abundantly, more honestly.
With your husband, your children, your neighbor, your friends, your extended family, your enemies…He will bring someone to mind.

Because, in the end, it won’t be our strength, successes, wit, or optimism that people remember most.

It will be love.
And love never fails.

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Lord, let it be love.

I spent this summer stepping back. Not because I h I spent this summer stepping back.
Not because I had nothing to say,
but because I needed time to remember how to listen and to be present with my people.
To linger in the moments that matter most.

And it was good. Painful in some ways (dropping my girl off at college, for one 💔),
but deeply good.

Now I sense it’s time to step back in.
With a new rhythm.
New clarity.
New intentionality.

So here’s what you can expect: a cadence you can count on.

Some days will be light and playful.
Some will press into Scripture.
Some will offer tools for the everyday.

My prayer is that this won’t just encourage you personally,
but also equip you to love, lead, and disciple the people God’s entrusted to you.

I pray it will encourage you in your faith, root you even more in truth.
And will help you to delight in ordinary (and extraordinary) beauty.

I want this space to feel like home.
Like you’re seen.

I pray you feel stirred up toward, and called into, what matters most in life.

A reminder that we don’t simply survive life—
we can actually enjoy it, walking with the God who is present with you.

My hope is to help you live for the mattering things—
in heart, in home, and in health.
To love what is true,
to long for what is good,
and to delight in what is beautiful.

So here’s to a new season—here’s to a new style!
And here’s to you! Thanks for being here!!!

We still meet with the church. Even after all the We still meet with the church.

Even after all the church hurt.
Even after all the trauma.
Even after all the pain.

Because church isn’t a building.
It’s not a stage or a program.

It’s people—the bride of Christ.
The one He loved enough to die for.

And she’s still beautiful.

Yes imperfect, but oh so lovely.

Yes, there are some who misrepresent her. Some who wound instead of heal. Some who have caused incredible ruptures that feel irreparable. We’ve experienced it firsthand and it’s awful.

But we will not hold God accountable for the sins of men.

What breaks my heart are the stories of those who walk away, blaming God for what people have done in His name. I’ve been there too.

It took me a year of flipping between not wanting to go or standing in the back of dark auditoriums…while weeping, accusing and pleading with the Lord to make it all right.

But what I have to come know with every fiber of my being is that God doesn’t approve of their actions—He promises He will hold them accountable…but it’ll be in His timing. In His perfect way. So we must let go…and allow Him the space to work.

Psalm 18 reminds us that when injustice rises, when it feels like darkness has the final word, He sees. He isn’t absent. And His delay doesn’t mean approval. He makes that darkness His footstool and thunders in the heavens, his voice like hailstones and coals of fire…

He covers Himself with clouds, He shakes the earth, He burns with holy anger.

Oh no my friend, He is not indifferent. He is moved…but He is also patient.

So we remain steady. If He is not moved we will not be moved either.

Though men may fail miserably, our Lord has never failed. And He never will.

That’s why we still gather. That’s why we still worship. That’s why we still sing praise right through all that pain with hands lifted high.

Not because the church or people have always been safe. But because Jesus is, and He is so very worthy.
