It comes from lifting others up, surrendering our pride, and following Jesus’ example.⁠ ⁠ ✨ How to Grow in Humility:⁠ ⁠ 1️⃣ Pray for a Humble Heart: Ask God to reveal areas of pride and help you see others as He does.⁠ ⁠ 2️⃣ Practice Gratitude: Focus on what God has done in your life instead of seeking credit for yourself.⁠ ⁠ 3️⃣ Serve Others: Look for ways to give without expecting anything in return. The Weight of Rest We are a restless people. We The Weight of Rest We are a restless people. We wear exhaustion like a badge of honor.
 We glorify hustle and grind and pushing through.
 We convince ourselves that we’ll rest when there’s time—but somehow, there is never enough time. So we pour from an empty cup.
 We push past the warning signs.
 We ignore the headaches, the stress, the anxiety, the brain fog. We think we can outrun our limits.
 But eventually, they catch up. Because lack of rest isn’t just an inconvenience.
 It’s a warning. A slow unraveling. A breaking point waiting to happen. 💡 A Bit Of Science:
Not getting enough rest can lead to: Weakened immune function Increased stress and anxiety Brain fog and poor decision-making Higher risk of burnout and depression Irritability and emotional instability Increased risk of heart disease and high blood pressure The world tells us that rest is a luxury.
But God tells us that rest is a command. “It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for He gives to His beloved sleep.” (Psalm 127:2) God never intended for us to run ourselves into the ground.
Even He—the Creator of the universe—chose to rest. So why do we think we’re the exception? Practical Ways to Prioritize Rest: ✅ Set Boundaries: Stop saying yes to everything. Protect your time.
 ✅ Create a Nighttime Routine: No screens an hour before bed. Read, pray, breathe.
 ✅ Prioritize Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours. Your body is not invincible.
 ✅ Take Sabbath Seriously: It’s not optional—it’s obedience.
 ✅ Learn to Pause: Rest isn’t just sleep. Take breaks. Breathe. Be still. But even with good habits, even with a full night’s sleep—
Our bodies can be rested while our souls are weary. And that’s why ultimate rest isn’t just physical. It’s found in Jesus. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) The deepest kind of rest isn’t a nap, a vacation, or a quiet moment with coffee.
It’s the rest that comes from knowing: ✨ I am not the one holding everything together.
 ✨ I do not have to earn my worth.
 ✨ I can stop striving. I can stop proving. I can let go. Because He is enough. #MatteringThings

One moment, you’re praised; the next, you’re dismissed. If you let it, the world will shape you into something God never intended—something smaller, quieter, more acceptable.⁠ ⁠ But you were not made to fit in.⁠ You were made to stand out.⁠ ⁠ “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” – Anaïs Nin⁠ ⁠ Every time you shrink back out of fear—fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of not being enough—remember this: Your courage will rise every time you refuse to be intimidated.⁠ ⁠ “There is a stubbornness about me that can never bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me.” – Jane Austen⁠ ⁠ The world will try to make you feel like you need permission to take up space. To speak. To lead. To chase after what sets your soul on fire.⁠ ⁠ But you don’t need permission to be who God made you to be.⁠ ⁠ You don’t need to apologize for stepping into the calling He has placed on your life.⁠ ⁠ And you certainly don’t need to dim your light to make someone else more comfortable.⁠ ⁠ You have a voice—use it.⁠ You have a place—stand firm in it.⁠ You have a calling—walk boldly in it.⁠ ⁠ There will be obstacles.⁠ There will be challenges that make you wonder if it’s worth it.⁠ ⁠ But joy is not only at the finish line—it’s in the journey, in walking with Him.⁠ ⁠ You are no exception.⁠ You were never meant to sit on the sidelines.⁠ ⁠ You were meant to live fuly...you were meant to rise.⁠ ⁠ #RiseAbove #StepIntoYourCalling #CourageOverFear #MatteringThings #womenoffaith
Worship Everything, Value Nothing?⁠ ⁠ “They Worship Everything, Value Nothing?⁠ ⁠ “They worship everything and they value nothing.”
—a line from La La Land(we watched it this past weekend) about Hollywood, but isn’t this also true of our culture at large?⁠ ⁠ We live in a world that chases everything—
Success. Fame. Image. Experiences. Influence. Comfort.⁠ ⁠ We bow at the altar of approval.
We give our devotion to the temporary.
We sacrifice peace for performance.
We trade meaning for more—more money, more status, more applause.⁠ ⁠ But in the end, it leaves us empty. Because when you worship everything, you value nothing.⁠ ⁠ But as followers of Jesus, we are called to something different. We worship One, and we value what He values.⁠ ⁠ “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.” (Luke 4:8)⁠ ⁠ Where the world sees power, He values humility.
⁠ ⁠ Where the world sees popularity, He values faithfulness.
⁠ ⁠ Where the world sees success, He values surrender.
⁠ ⁠ Where the world sees greatness, He values servanthood.⁠ ⁠ “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” (Mark 8:36)⁠ ⁠ The question is: What are we worshiping? What are we valuing?⁠ ⁠ If we’re honest, we might realize how easily we slip into the world’s rhythm—
Chasing things that don’t last.
Building lives on things that will burn.
⁠ ⁠ Measuring ourselves by what He never asked us to measure.⁠ ⁠ But when we shift our worship back to Jesus, we find that what He values fills rather than drains, builds rather than breaks, satisfies rather than starves.⁠ ⁠ Let’s be a people who refuse to worship everything and instead give our hearts fully to the only One worthy.
