Post-School-Conversations With Your Kids

I now have three kids in elementary school (which seems insane to me!). I love that they love going to class, that they love their friends, and that their teachers really are great. But I confess I miss them terribly when they are gone. I admit I am THAT mom that still gets a little…

Pumpkin Patch Day!

Today we took our little family and drove to a farm about an hour away from our house. We went there last year and LOVED it, so we had to make the effort to go again this year. And I must say…despite the fact that my car read 101′ today, it finally feels like fall!…

Practical Fitness Perspective: From the Emergency Room

When I began the journey to enter the 2015 Labrada Spokesmodel competition, I had to create a new plan to get my body to the next “level.” I mapped it all out on a calendar. I knew what foods I would eat and when I would eat them. I planned what time of the day…

My neighbor, who I adore, came home the other day while the kids and I were playing outside. While we were chatting she began pulling out of the trunk of her car numerous laundry baskets FILLED with dirty clothes! It took me a minute to realize what she was doing, but as soon as it…

“Did You PLAN To Have All Of Those Kids?” Our Story…Part 1

When I met my husband Matt, I had about 3 semesters left to finish my college degree. Although I was living back in Albuquerque at the time, I knew in order to finish my degree most quickly it would mean me going back to Oklahoma to finish off where I had started. I knew as…

I’m sure it’s AI…but I have no doubt that’ I’m sure it’s AI…but I have no doubt that’s what @charliekirk1776 would be saying right now.

Double down…on love, on grace, on forgiveness, on joy, on kindness and on speaking the gospel to every tongue, every tribe and every nation…until our Savior returns.

Tag a friend, tag a loved one…spread this message far and wide until the darkness shutters!!!!!

“Willpower does not change men. Time does not change men. Christ does.”
—Henry Drummond

When the air turns to lace and holy gets through, When the air turns to lace and holy gets through, don’t rush to stitch it all back together.

Let the veil do its work.

The winnowing reveals what remains: faith, hope, love.

We aren’t fighting flesh and blood—and in Christ, we are not without hope.

While the window is open, speak Jesus.

Text the friend.

Tell your story.

Open Scripture.

Offer a meal and the gospel that saves.

Eyes up. Heart awake. Hope anchored in Jesus.

Today we learned Charlie Kirk was shot at a campus Today we learned Charlie Kirk was shot at a campus event in Utah. A family is shattered, and a nation is staring into the mirror of its own rage.

We are fragile.

Our words—and our silences—shape real lives.

Contempt is cheap; love costs something.

And death…it is coming for us all.

Maybe this is a wake-up call:

To repent of the ways we dehumanize people made in God’s image—even our opponents.

To reject political violence in every form.

To refuse the easy lure of outrage and choose the harder work of peacemaking, of proclaiming Jesus as the only way.

To let our convictions be formed by the Word of God, not by the world, culture, or popular opinion.

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)

“You are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” (James 4:14)

“What does the Lord require of you? Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly.” (Micah 6:8)

Lord, have mercy on us all.

Please Lord, comfort the grieving.

Heal our violent impulses.

Search us and purify us (Psalm 139:23–24).

Make us people who speak truth with love, who resist the intoxication of contempt, who choose the narrow way of Jesus.

Teach us to live ready—to live on mission—to forgive quickly, to bless our enemies, to practice and embody the peace and Person we claim to posses.

If this tragedy shakes you, if it rattles you…let it lead you to examen: pause, reflect, repent, reset where needed. The world is getting darker; either we are lights or we aren’t. Where are we needlessly distracted?

Either we belong to Christ or we don’t. Today we must choose. Today we must fix our eyes on what is eternal—what is lasting.

Let us be known for love—for a heart like Jesus, for quick forgiveness, for lives that actually embody the very Spirit of God.

I plead with you, tend to every interaction as if the hope of the world rode on it.
Because it does.

Wake up from our slumber. Wake up from thinking there isn’t a real spiritual battle happening right now before our eyes.

Reject contempt; choose Jesus. Live so that every road points people to Jesus—truly, He is our only hope.
