A poem from my personal journal:

“Willfully Blind”⁠
⁠
I choose to walk with blinders on, ⁠Not chained to all that’s come and gone. ⁠
Not ruled by wounds or kept by pain, ⁠But eyes set high, where hope remains.⁠
⁠
For love is blind—willfully so, ⁠Refusing what would steal its glow.⁠
 I fix my gaze on what will last, ⁠Not fading dreams or shadows past.⁠
⁠
One day, I’ll see Him face to face, His hands, His wounds, His endless grace. 
And when that moment consumes my view, ⁠The trials here will fade from view.⁠

So even now, in weary days, ⁠Through laundry piles, conflict and long delays, ⁠
Through tangled hurts, fears and shattered plans, ⁠I bow at the cross with worshipful hands.⁠

For nothing’s lost, and nothing dies, ⁠When seen through heaven’s steady eyes.⁠
⁠ No moment wasted, not one tear, ⁠No silent prayer that God doesn’t hear.⁠

The world may pull, it may entice,⁠
But we are invited into the greater prize.
⁠
No fleeting treasure holds my soul,⁠
For Christ alone has made me whole.⁠

I will not bend, I will not break, ⁠My joy holds fast—no storm can take.⁠
⁠ I choose to live unchained, unbound, ⁠With heaven’s song as my surround.⁠

So lift your eyes, let go, be free, ⁠And step into a mindset of eternity.
⁠
The world may scorn, but we will find, ⁠The strength that comes from being blind.⁠
⁠

Jesus said crazy things like: Lose your life to fi

Jesus said crazy things like:
Lose your life to find it.

Become the least to become great.

Serve if you want to lead.

It’s almost like the way to really live is by laying everything down.

Like the path to joy isn’t by grasping tighter, but by letting go.

The world says, “fight for your place.”
Jesus says, “take the lowest seat.”

The world says, “build your own name.”
Jesus says, “pick up your cross.”

The world says, “show your strength.”
Jesus says, “boast in your weakness.”

If what you’re carrying feels heavy, upside down, or undone — maybe you’re closer to the Kingdom than you realize.

Maybe the unraveling isn’t the end…maybe, just maybe, it’s the beginning of what matters most of all.

This story gets me every time.⁠ ⁠ Not because

This story gets me every time.⁠
⁠
Not because of the pain—though it was real.⁠
Not even because of the perseverance—though it was stunning.⁠
But because of the presence.⁠
A father who saw his son fall… and refused to stay in the stands.⁠
⁠
He ran to him.⁠
Held him up.⁠
Helped him finish.⁠
⁠
And it made me think—⁠
Isn’t that what our Father does too?⁠
⁠
When we’re limping through seasons we thought we’d sprint,⁠
when we feel like we’ve failed,⁠
when everything in us aches to quit…⁠
⁠
He comes running.⁠
⁠
Not because we’re strong.⁠
Not because we’re impressive.⁠
But because we’re His.⁠
⁠
And love never stays seated when His child is hurting.⁠
⁠
This story reminds me:⁠
God is not waiting for us at the finish line.⁠
He’s with us in the race.⁠
And we never, ever walk alone.

I have noticed something about Jesus—⁠
He chose the lonely places.⁠ (Luke 5:16)⁠
⁠
The word “chose” stands out in that sentence. He chose lonely. ⁠
⁠
He withdrew from the noise, the crowds, the doing...⁠
to be with the Father.⁠
⁠
Yet how often do we look at lonely places as something negative. Something undesirable. ⁠
⁠
What if the lonely places in our lives aren’t punishment, but an invitation?⁠
⁠
A beckoning. A gentle ask...for something participatory....to encounter and experience something (Someone) far more grand than anything our phones or our mindless scrolling or our Netflix binges could ever offer. ⁠
⁠
If Jesus, the God Man, needed quiet, if He needed solitude...if He needed to withdraw, we cannot think we wouldn’t.⁠
⁠
What I have learned more than anything else...it’s that you don’t get the transformation that you desire in only knowing about those quiet places. ⁠
⁠
It’s in the going, the hunting, the seeking out of them.⁠
⁠
It’s in the silence, the shutting it off, the laying it down...it’s in the seeking...it’s in the solitude. ⁠
⁠
Transformation is only found in the quiet presence of the Lord. ⁠
⁠
I truly know of no other way. ⁠
⁠
Put your phone down...the quiet calls to the deep parts of your soul. ⁠
