As a full time homeschooling mama it’s tough to get even a moment without the kids, so a night away every now and then is something Matt and I fight to get. We try to plan in a few overnights throughout the year to make sure we are spending some good quality time away from the kids every now and then. But this year so far has completely gotten away from us!
In April Matt and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. I say “celebrated” but in reality with everything happening so fast with our upcoming move, packing, travel and normal every day with the kids we totally forgot it was our anniversary! Until the day before!
My brother and sister in law called and offer to watch our kids and even threw out the idea to keep them all overnight for us to get a hotel near their home! We pieced together our plans and before we knew it we were dropping them off!
We stayed in Carlsbad Village and had the best time walking around the cute little shops and restaurants. We ate at a tapas restaurant (which was amazing) and the next morning walked by the beach.
